Established in 2008 and now under new ownership, our mission is to provide the highest quality flight training and education through mentorship from dedicated aviation industry professionals.
The Cactus Aviation team is made up of experienced, passionate flight instructors dedicated to providing safe, personalized, and professional flight training. We offer structured training programs tailored to each student’s goals—whether you are pursuing a private pilot certificate, instrument rating, commercial license, or building flight time. Our instructors emphasize strong aeronautical decision-making, real-world flying skills, and confidence in the cockpit, ensuring you receive high-quality instruction every step of the way.
At Cactus Aviation, we train using the iconic Cessna 172, the Pipistrel Alpha Trainer, and the Redbird LD AATD simulator. The Cessna 172 is widely regarded as one of the best training aircraft due to its stability and forgiving flight characteristics. From the traditional “six-pack” configuration to technologically advanced Cessna 172 models, we offer aircraft options to fit your training needs and budget.
The Pipistrel Alpha Trainer features advanced avionics, a ballistic parachute system, and affordable operating costs, making it an excellent modern training aircraft. Complementing our fleet, the Redbird LD AATD simulator is a powerful training tool designed to support instrument rating and commercial pilot training.
We offer a wide range of flight training programs designed to meet the needs of students at all levels. From private pilot training to advanced commercial aviation programs, we have a program that will fit your needs. Cactus Aviation also offers PSI Testing.

We are conveniently located inside the Henderson Executive Airport (KHND) in Henderson, Nevada, with our office on the second floor of the main terminal building. KHND is an exceptional airport for flight training, operating just under the Las Vegas (KLAS) Class B airspace while remaining close to multiple practice areas and surrounding airports. This combination makes Henderson Executive Airport an ideal and efficient location for pilot training.
